Five Kazakhstanis went to the World Cup of modern pentathlon, which will be held in Cairo (Egypt) tonight from the Almaty airport. Among them are the leaders of Kazakhstan team Pavel Iliyashenko, Arina Dzhiyenbalanova, Kseniya Aleksandrova, Leonid Zimarev and Rustem Sabirkhuzin.

The second stage of the World Cup will be held from April 2 to 6. Women competitions will start on April 2 men`s - April 3.

"Now it is difficult to assess the chances, I can not yet say definitely, but hope we get to the finals", - the head coach of Kazakhstan pentathlon Vadim Chudnovsky reported.

For the women's team leader Arina Dzhiyenbalanova this is one of the first major tournaments after last year injuries.

Looking back to the first World Cup held in the Mexican city of Acapulco has been canceled because of female athletes` boycott. The organizers were not able to provide a sufficient number of trained horses, as a result few drops with the real possibilities to get severe injuries happened, and many athletes received a score of zero.

After protests from women, men also refused to go to start. Later, after negotiations with the athletes, which lasted more than four hours, the President of the International Federation of Modern Pentathlon Dr.Klaus Schormann decided to terminate the competition.
