Pavel Ilyashenko won the A. Imanov international pentathlon tournament, which has ended in the Almaty region.
Member of the Kazakhstan Olympic team scored a total of 5808 points. The second and third places were also won by the representatives of Kazakhstan. Andrei Soldatov earned 5764 points, and Leonid Vimarev had 5720 points.
Note that another Olympian Rustem Sabirkhuzin also took part in the tournament. But he was injured, while training for horseback riding, and coaching staff decided to withdraw from the competition after the pentathletes’ performance in fencing.
Recall that the prizes of the international tournament among women were also won by the Kazakhstani athletes. Arina Dzhienbalanova was the gold medalist, the second was Ksenia Alexandrova, Anna Shondina showed the third result by earning 4596 points.
