From March 8 to 9, 2014 the International Ranking Competition in Modern Pentathlon was held.

The women's competition was attended by 32 athletes from Kazakhstan, Germany, Czech Republic and Poland. The competition started with fencing. Olga Boiko and Olesya Mylnikova scored 222 points, so settled on the 12th and 13th positions of the international rankings. Ksenia Atamanskaya took 16th place with a score of 215 points. In swimming Ksenia won the first place with the highest score 2.14.28. Olga Boiko took the second place with a decent result 2.14.37. Olesya Mylnikova with the result 2.32.22 was on the 26th ranking position.

Next day of the tournament began with combine competitions. With the result of 15.25.55 Olga Boiko brought bronze to our country among girls born in 1996 and younger. In the very discipline Kseniya Atamanskaya scored 358 points with a result of 15.42.98 took fifth place and among athletes. With a total 15.49.56 Olesya Mylnikova is rated on the tenth position. Tournament in Poland showed all the strengths and weaknesses of our pentathletes.

It is worth noting the high level of international results that the promising athletes Atamanskaya Ksenia and Olga Boiko have showed. Unfortunately, Olesya Mylnikova could not achieve good result due to illness. In fencing competitions our girls showed a high specific training and will to win.

In the men's standings 43 athletes from Kazakhstan, Czech Republic, Belarus and Poland have participated.

Junior competition opened with swimming competitions. In the discipline the good results was shown by Ivan Yershov - 2.00.40, Vladislav Sukharev delivered a result 2.00.94, thus athletes won II and III respectively. Personal records were set by Dmitriy Koshelnik – 2.05.68, Denis Tyurin – 2.07.85 and 2.12.03 by Igor Sozinov.

Kazakhstan junior athletes have genuinely pleased with their successful results. In swimming Artem Drobotov reached 2.08.62, Pavel Kotkov – 2.09.25, Nikita Presnyakov - 2.13.97, Mukhammedali Nurakhan - 2.14.78, Semen Kotenko - 2.26.60.

Moreover, the fencing competitions showed good results. The best of our athletes was Dmitriy Koshelnik - 265 points, ahead of Ivan Yershov, whose result was 250 points and eventually the fifth place in the ranking. With the result of 245 points Igor Sozinov took ninth place of ranking. Muhammedali Nurakhan with a score of 225 points was on the 15th place. Denis Tyurin scored 220 points, Artem Drobotov - 215 points. Vladislav Sukharev gained 210 points. Pavel Kotkov finished competition with a total of 200 points, Semen Kotenko - 200 points, Nikita Presnyakov- 195 points.

Semen Kotenko with the result of 12.13.09 has brilliantly made ​​in a combine event. Ivan Yershov clocked in 12.15.18; 12.39.47 was the result of Igor Sozinov. Sukharev Vladislav obtained 12.40.99, Pavel Kotkov-12.53.85, 12.57.77 by Denis Tyurin, Artem Drobotov - 13.06.52, Dmitriy Koshelnik - 13.16.26, Nurakhan Mukhammedali - 13.38.08, Nikita Presnyakov - 15.17.15.

Tournament was completed with riding competition where the best was Sozinov Igor with a maximum of 300 points. Ivan Yershov earned 293 points. Denis Tyurin completed the competition with 255 points, Koshelnik Dmitriy - 251 points, Sukharev Vladislav - 249 points.

Under the category "B" the golden medal was won by Nurakhan Muhammedali with a total of 1003 points. The fifth place is taken by Nikita Presnyakov with 877 points.

Under the category "A" the fourth place belongs to Artem Drobotov, his result is 1044 points. The fifth ranking position is taken by Kotkov Pavel, seventh place went to Semen Kotenko.

 With triumph the first place among juniors and among men in all five disciplines went to the the pride of Kazakhstan pentathlon Ivan Yershov, who showed excellent results of 1447 points. He was followed by athletes Igor Sozinov -1390 points, Dmitriy Koshelnik – 1343 points, Vladislav Sukharev – 1337 points and Denis Tyurin - 1315 points.

Our athletes adequately presented our country at the Polish tournament, showing good results and records, which reflects the rapid progress and growing dynamics of pentathlon`s trainings.
