Yesterday the qualifying competitions in Modern Pentathlon World Cup #1 2013 have been finished.

 

Altogether 75 pentathletes have participated in the competition including our sportsmen Pavel Ilyashenko, Andrey Soldatov and Dmitriy Koshelnik. By the results of qualification A Ilyashenko takes 6th place with 4532 points, in qualification B – Koshelnik takes 20th place with 3976 points and in qualification C – Soldatov with 4452 points takes 13th place.     

In accordance with new rules only eight first pentathletes from each semifinal and twelve sportsmen revealed by results reached the final.  Therefore from the 1st and 2nd semifinal 22 sportsmen in elevens, and 14 ones from the 3rd semifinal reached the final.   It would be interesting to know that as a result the final was gained by participants who finished by a score more than 4400.    

Thus, Pavel Ilyashenko and Andrey Soldatov reached the final.  Men’s World Cup starts with fencing competition on 23rd of February.
