ALMATY REGION, 1 November 2025 — The U19 Asian Championships ended on a high note for the hosts.
On the final day of competition, highlighted by the spectacular Mixed Relay, Kazakhstan's team put a beautiful golden full stop to the tournament.
A duo of champions
The country's honour in the closing event of the programme was defended by the team's leaders, Diana Shchedrova and Tikhon Varyokhin. Both athletes, who had already won medals on previous days, joined forces as a powerful tandem. In a tense battle with the Chinese pair, decided by mere seconds and points, the Kazakhstanis snatched victory.
Mixed Relay results:
- 1st place: KAZ 1 — SCHEDROVA Diana / VARYOKHIN Tikhon (1,359 points)
- 2nd place: CHN 2 — SONG Yixiao / HUANG Rui (1,352 points)
- 3rd place: KOR 1 — MIN Soyoon / PARK Saechan (1,336 points)
Tournament summary
The mixed relay victory was a symbolic end to the home championships. Kazakhstan's team delivered an outstanding result, dominating both the individual and team events throughout the week.
Immediately after the finish, the closing ceremony took place, with the anthem played in honour of the winners.
