From September 26 to October 4, 2013, the Asian Modern Pentathlon Championships will be held in Astana, where the strongest athletes  from China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, India, Kyrgyzstan, Chinese Taipei, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan will compete for the first place.

On September 26, 2013  on the eve of the competition, a press conference to be attended by the President of the International Union for Modern Pentathlon Dr. Klaus Shormann, Secretary General of the Asian Confederation Mr. Choi, the Deputy Chairman of the Agency for Sports and Physical Education Kanagatov Yelsiyar and the head coach of the national team Vadim Chudnovsky.

Modern Pentathlon is a unique combination of five sports in one complex: fencing, swimming, show jumping, running and shooting.
The men's and women's national teams will defend the honour of Kazakhstan at the Asian Championship.

The men's team: Pavel Ilyashenko, Rustem Sabirkhuzin and Andrei Soldatov. Coach - Dmitriy Tyurin .

The women's team: Xenia Alexandrova, Dariya Khalzova and Julia Kolegova. Coach - Valeriy Koshelsky,  Lada Dzhiyenbalanova.

Arina Dzhieynbalanova doesn`t take part in the Asian Championship as a leader of the women's team, the silver medalist at the Asian Championchip-2012 who just recovered from injury and has only recently started to train.

A press conference will be held on September 26 at 12.00 am in the Beijing Palace Soluxe Hotel Astana, Hall "Shanghai".
The opening ceremony of the competition will take place at the cycle track "Sary-Arka" on September 28 at 19.00 pm.
