"The tournament is important, because it is one of the rating, and the outcome will affect the selection of the team that will perform at the Asian Games. Memorial Amangeldy Imanov a part of the calendar of the International Federation, which on completion of the competition will see the results. Therefore, athletes and coaches specially prepared for this event, "- the press conference head coach of the modern pentathlon Vadim Chudnovsky.
Besides Kazakhstan athletes take part in competitions pentathletes from Kyrgyzstan. This year the participation of the two countries is due to the fact that many athletes will be in Hungary at the European Championships and the Asian countries are busy purposeful preparation for the upcoming Asian Games. Secretary General of the Kazakhstan Federation of Modern Pentathlon Dmitry Tyurin said the absence of some countries due to the geographical position.
"On those costs that will be needed for the road to us, they can go 2-3 times at competitions in Europe. So we need to raise the prestige of the competition, which in the days of the Soviet Union was one of the strongest tournaments in the world. In this regard, we have already started a great job, and we hope in the near future other countries will turn to face us, "- said Dmitry Tyurin.
However, in this year's tournament in memory of A. Imanov will bring together about 60 athletes. Contest will last until July 16.
According to head coach Vadim Chudnovsky, the final composition of the team of Kazakhstan on the main Asian starts four years will be determined after another qualifying event - Kazakhstan Cup "tournament of the strongest." After that, the best Kazakhstan pentathletes will go to the World Cup.
"We plan that will be submitted to a maximum of four men and four women. Of course, it will be hard to deal with the Koreans, because South Korea is a traditionally strong sport. Korean team almost every year takes place on the podium at the World Championships, so it will be very difficult to win just at them. Last year we managed to beat them in the individual and team standings at the Asian Championship, which was held in Astana. The most powerful countries in the Asian region - it is Korea, China, Japan and Kazakhstan. In China there is even an entire city for the pentathlon. Countries where pentathlon gradually developed - is India, Taiwan, Hong Kong ", - concluded the head coach.
