July 13, 2025 — The UIPM 2025 Pentathlon Relay World Championships has concluded in Alexandria, Egypt.

The tournament, which united relays at the Senior, Junior, and U19/U17 levels, became a true showcase of global powers in modern pentathlon. Following the competition, the International Modern Pentathlon Union (UIPM) specifically noted the wide geographic reach of the medals: representatives of Kazakhstan confidently joined the list of nations leaving the championship with awards.

The main outcome of the tournament for the national team was the triumph of its immediate reserve. In conditions of fierce competition, where a mistake by a single participant directly affects the team's result, Kazakhstani athletes in the U17 category (boys and girls under 17) demonstrated not only high personal preparation but also tactical maturity.

Our athletes ascended the podium three times, proving that the team has a solid foundation for future victories:

  • Silver in Men's Relay: The duo of Nurgali Omirserik and Tamerlan Tulegenov conceded only to the tournament hosts, the Egyptian team, showing true fighting character on the course.
  • Silver in Women's Relay: Yana Bespalova and Azhar Bolat also claimed the vice-champion title, confirming the high class of the Kazakhstani pentathlon school.
  • Bronze in Mixed Relay: Tamerlan Tulegenov and Azhar Bolat added a third medal to the team's tally, rounding out the top three behind the teams from Czechia and Egypt.

For the national team, medals at a world championship in the relay format are a key indicator of squad depth. The success of the youth team clearly demonstrates the quality of reserve preparation, capable of withstanding a tight competition schedule and fighting for top honors on the world stage.
