Kazakhstan was represented by well-known penathletes, such as Yulia Kolegova , Arina Dzhiyenbalanova , Pavel Ilyashenko and Andrei Soldatov at the World Championship in Modern Pentathlon , which was held in Taiwan in Kaoshung from August 18 to August 28.
The finalists were two: Pavel Ilyashenko and Julia Kolegova . Andrei Soldatov did not have a place to reach the final. Also, Italian De Luca did not succeeded in the competition. They did not have 5 seconds.
Julia Kolegova had more difficulties, as she did not protrude more than a year in international competitions. And it could not affect the results. First of all, it affected the fencing. However, in riding she has shown excellent results and won the first place. She finished with food results in running but was a bit behind in the shooting. As a result, 30 out of the 65 participants` place.
Pavel Ilyashenko easily passed the semi-final, and, of course, everyone was sure to expect of him the high results , at least getting into the top ten. But , apparently affected by the consequences of undergoing surgery , after the second turn on the shooting, he felt severe pain and had to go the distance .
